Fatima’s Hand/ Antique Arabic Amulet
Fatima’s hand known also as Khamsa is a protective amulet in the form of an open palm which is popular in the Middle East. Worn as a jewel or ornament hung in the house, it ensures a protection against malicious magic, evil eye, chases negative forces and brings prosperity and happiness to its owner. In Islam, its name is associated with the daughter of the Prophet Mohamed – Fatima Zahra. The Levantine Christians call it the hand of Virgin Mary and among the Jews it is known as the hand of Maryam. This amulet was made in the late 19th century and belonged to a famous healer from North Africa. It is one and only piece. It must be hung with the palm down at the entrance of your home or on a wall in it so that it looks east.
